If you have answered yes to any of the above, are aged between 12 – 22 years, and are a resident of the Hurunui District (may attend boarding school outside the district) then the Hurunui Youth Council maybe for you.

Applications must be received by Monday 31st October 2016

To be considered for the Hurunui Youth Programme Committee applicants must attend the HYC / HYPC applicant introduction evening on Monday 31st October 6pm – 8pm Amberley Memorial Library.


What does the Hurunui Youth Programme Committee do?

HYP Vision;

Creating positive activities and opportunities for our young people to learn, succeed and reach their potential.

The Hurunui Youth Programme offers recreational activities and development programmes for youth in Years 7-13 in the Hurunui District.

The HYP Committee (HYPC) supports the planning and running of events.


What commitment will you be making?

HYC members must be available to:

  • Attend three weekly meetings on Mondays 4.30pm – 6.30pm at the Hurunui District Council in Amberley.
  • Attend all meetings unless you have a good reason not to.
  • Act as responsible, active and willing youth leaders / HYPC members.
  • Be available on Friday 27th – Sunday 29th January 2017 for the HYPC Training weekend at Hanmer Springs.
  • Commit a minimum of ten hours per month.
